In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”
You will be familiar with the Greek word used here for “against.” It is “epi,” which means “on” or “upon.” There is the “epicenter” and the “epidermis.” Thus the passage is more literally, “hope upon hope.” So, what is hope? Here is one Scripture passage that helps us to understand:
For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, with perseverance we wait eagerly for it [Romans 8:24-25].
Hope then is the measured anticipation that something not yet seen is going to come about, come to fulfillment. What then does this tell us about this hope that Abraham had? It was hope, stacked on top of hope, stacked on top of hope, stacked on top of hope, stacked on top of hope, …. Do you get the idea here? My personal translation of this passage is that this kind of experience is hope back-to-back with hope—with no fulfillment in-between!
Abraham was promised a son; so when he was with Sarah, how many times did he hope that that occasion would be the provision for this son? Each time he was with her afforded that possibility. “Would this be the fulfillment?,” he would have wondered. He had a promise from Yahweh God, and most certainly he continually provided the efforts to bring forth that promised son. But, his experiences were hope upon hope, without the fulfillment.
This has been my personal experience for almost sixteen years now, since 1994 when the truth concerning the Bride was first given to me. On numerous occasions, upon effecting many intercessions and types, we have had hope that Yahweh would provide the latter rain, or do something outstanding toward it. But as it is stated here regarding Abraham, the fulfillment did not come, and this would be followed by yet another hope—hope upon hope.
After Abraham was circumcised, though impossible because of Sarah’s age, once again he sowed the seed of hope in her and finally received the promise. Once again it required that he do his part and try. As with Abraham, I trust we will receive our long awaited promise. This is the promise set forth in Proverbs 13:12, where the first part of that verse describes the outcome of some of our experiences since 1994:
Hope deferred makes the heart sick ….
Many times our hearts have been made sick. But gladly, that verse concludes the very fulfillment we, the Bride, must have:
… but desire fulfilled is a tree of life.
The tree of life is the promised Bride, who ascends alive and never dies, affording to all mankind the anchor of hope (Hebrews 6:18-19 and ).
So, this once again brings us to the question as to what is our hope today as the Bride? Over the years the Bride has rightfully looked at patterns and types, seeking to understand what Yahweh is doing and will yet do. One cannot look back at what Yahweh has already done and deny the inescapable fact that He is a God of replicable order and effects His works off of attesting types. All one has to do to see the truth of this is to look at Yahshua’s crucifixion at Passover; His fulfillment of the Nazirite vow throughout that entire process, including His return from heaven after eight days; and the former rain poured out on Pentecost. Therefore, we are wise and circumspect to take hope in and seek for His fulfillment based on relevant unfolding patterns.
So what do we see today that gives us hope? More specifically, what pattern do we see that once again gives us hope? The answer? The pattern of the kingdom of God. What is that pattern? Today we have the advantage of history and the Spirit of truth in order to tell what it is.
We know that Yahshua was crucified, rose from the dead, restored the Garden kingdom, went back to heaven, and sent the Holy Spirit to the first Remnant. We also know that that first olive tree work lasted for a year and a half, ending with the stoning of Stephen. We know that the church was supposed to receive three parts, or three thousand years, which must be cut short to two parts, or two thousand years. This brings us to where we are today. We also know that the latter rain should be a double portion work, which could indicate that the second Remnant olive tree would thereby have a ministry period of three years. So, the pattern would be:
1 ½ years —> two 1,000-year periods —> 3 years
Now, and I know we will be mixing reality and types, but if this pattern was to be walked out today, there would have to be a type for the two one-thousand-year periods. We can live one and a half years, as well as the three years; but no man can live two thousand years. What then would that representation be? Clearly, it would be the number of the mark of the beast—the number seven. You can read about this number at . But briefly, as instructed in Revelation 13:18, it is from the true number of that passage—616—whereby we can calculate it. Going left to right, or right to left, six and one is seven. But that is only one evidence. Look at what the number seven attests to in the Scriptures—clearly it is the corruption of the kingdom of heaven. Briefly, here are some examples of what takes place in the kingdom:
• Miriam/Mary was leprous for seven days for her rebellion (Numbers 12:14-15)
• Naaman was equally leprous until after the completion of seven washings in the Jordan (2 Kings 5:10-14)
• The ark of the covenant was in Dagon’s, the fish god’s, temple for seven months (1 Samuel 5:1-2 and 6:1)
• There was a drought on the land for seven years (2 Kings 8:1-3)
• The stone that has iniquity has seven eyes (Zechariah 3:9)
• The lampstand representing Christianity has seven branches (Zechariah 4:2)
• Seven wicked spirits made the last state worst than the first (Matthew 12:45)
• The boy sneezed seven times in order to come back to life (2 Kings 4:35)
• Seven demons were cast out of Mary (Mark 16:9)
• Seven loaves and seven baskets of bread were identified with the leavened-bread feeding of the multitude (Matthew 15:34, 37)
Now let us look at two, even three, testimonies that specifically relate to the pattern of the church that we just noted. Before examining these, we know that the church is identified as three parts, cut short to two. Here again are a few examples:
• The church is identified with the tribe of Judah (Hebrews 7:14, Romans 2:28-29), and Judah had three attesting sons—two receiving Tamar (the granddaughter of Melchizedek) and thereupon their lives were taken, while the third did not receive her (Genesis 38)
• Two parts of the sheep, of which Yahshua is the shepherd, are cut off and die, and the third part passes through the fire (Zechariah 13:7-9)
• David killed two parts of the Moabites, and preserved the third part alive (2 Samuel 8:2)
• The first two parts are torn and wounded, and the third part is raised up to live before Yahweh (Hosea 6:1-2)
• The tabernacle—the pattern of the church, the heavenly kingdom—was divided 2,000 cubic cubits and 1,000 cubic cubits
• Three men with three loaves of leavened bread came to Saul and gave him two loaves, the number of loaves of leavened bread that were waved on the day of Pentecost (1 Samuel 10:3-4, Leviticus 23:15-17)
Clearly, the church is a two-thirds and one-third work. Let us now concentrate on these first two parts, these first two one-thousand-year periods that have the mark-of-the-beast seven on them. These are the two parts testified by the two loaves of leavened Pentecost bread, the two thousand swine that went to the sea of death (Mark 5:13), and the two sons of Judah whom Yahweh rejected and took their lives.
In Pharaoh’s dream in Genesis 41, we find prophetic testimony concerning these first two parts, two thousand years, of the church. How do we know this? First, the dream came to Pharaoh specifically “at the end of two full years” (vs. 1). Also, evidencing the two cursed periods of the church, the dream was concerning the contrast of good and evil, the very thing the church has been for two thousand years—the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. In verses 17-24 we read Pharaoh’s account of his dream. The words translated “good” and “evil” here are the identical Hebrew words used in the tree of the knowledge of “good and evil.”
“In my dream, behold, I was standing on the bank of the Nile; and behold, seven cows, fat and sleek came up out of the Nile; and they grazed in the marsh grass. And lo, seven other cows came up after them, poor and very evil and lean of flesh, such as I had never seen for evilness in all the land of Egypt; and the lean and evil cows ate up the first seven fat cows. Yet when they had devoured them, it could not be detected that they had devoured them; for they were just as evil as before. Then I awoke. I saw also in my dream, and behold, seven ears, full and good, came up on a single stalk; and lo, seven ears, withered, thin, and scorched by the east wind, sprouted up after them; and the thin ears swallowed the seven good ears. Then I told it to the magicians, but there was no one who could explain it to me.”
Additionally, Joseph’s response to Pharaoh highlights even moreso the contrast of good and evil. In verses 25-27 we read:
“Pharaoh’s dreams are one and the same; God has told to Pharaoh what He is about to do. The seven good cows are seven years; and the seven good ears are seven years; the dreams are one and the same. And the seven lean and evil cows that came up after them are seven years, and the seven thin ears scorched by the east wind shall be seven years of famine.”
Therefore, if the first two thousand years of the church are the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, does this parable regarding the church mean that the first thousand years would be good, and the last thousand years would be evil? Of course not; but instead, it identifies that this entire two-part period of the church will be good and evil, with the obvious outcome that the evil devours the good. This is precisely what takes place in Christianity. The good they may do, is devoured by all of the evil they do.
Also, and this is very important to note here, these paired sevens once again tell us that the two parts of the church have their identity in the mark-of-the-beast seven. This is the same testimony evidenced by Jacob laboring two seven-year periods in order to obtain his two Brides—his first Remnant Leah, and his second Remnant Rachel. Thus we see that the first two one-thousand-year mark-of-the-beast periods could just as well be represented as two sevens. Therefore, what we laid out earlier could equally be represented:
1 ½ years —> 7 and 7 —> 3 years
This same truth is presented in a slightly different way in Daniel 4 regarding King Nebuchadnezzar’s fate. We will seek to be brief in addressing this. There are two testimonies tied together here, both of which speak of Christianity. And, like the good and evil of Pharaoh’s dream, if considered chronologically they make no prophetic sense. The first clearly speaks of Christianity in that Nebuchadnezzar is likened to a tree so vast that “its height reached to heaven, and it was visible to the end of the whole earth” (vs. 11). The largest religion in the world that reaches to heaven is certainly mystery Babylon Christianity. But also like the fate of Christianity, this tree was cut down and a band of iron and bronze (the metal which always represents Christianity) was placed around its stump until it could be restored (vss. 15 and 23). Next, we see that Nebuchadnezzar was to become like a bird and the beasts, and his mind would “be changed from that of a man,” and a beast’s mind would be given to him for “seven periods of time” (vss. 15-16, 23, 25, 32, 33).
Thus, first we see the vast tree testimony that reaches to heaven and is cut down; then, once again, there is the mark-of-the-beast seven. So, are these two chronological testimonies two sequential fulfillments; or as we have seen already, do they both speak of the same period? Indeed, they likewise tell two truths relative to both periods of time—the first two thousand years of the church. Christianity is a tree that has to be cut down and restored later; and as we have seen, it has the mind of a beast—the mark-of-the-beast seven.
Finally, the first two sons of Judah reveal a like pattern testimony concerning Christianity. In Genesis 38, we read that the first son, Er, who was given Tamar, “was evil in the sight of Yahweh, so Yahweh took his life.” Tamar was then given to the second son, Onan. But we read that “he wasted his seed on the ground in order not to give offspring to his brother.” This was “displeasing in the sight of Yahweh; so He took his life also.”
We already know that these two sons represent the first two thousand years of the church that are cut off and die. So once again, does this mean that the actions of each of these sons represent the specific acts relevant to each of these two periods of time; or, are they also set forth to represent the qualities of both periods? Obviously, like the good and evil cows, or the two testimonies regarding Nebuchadnezzar, they too represent both periods.
Why is all of this presented here? First, it helps you to understand what the church really is, as well as its governmental order. But this also points to an unmistakable pattern that is parallel in my own life that gives us hope that Yahweh might now do something in fulfilling the tree of life.
On August 7, 1994, my own birthday, the second Remnant Bride began, was “born,” when Yahweh took me out of the Body of Christ—the rib came out of the body. One and a half years later, in mid February, 1996, I had what I call my Jonah experience. (Read .) This was also the year that Yahweh legally chose to have mercy. From that experience I learned that He was going to have mercy on the church. But there was also a negative affect that began to take place, which was the beginning of the end of my family. Because of the disappointment of that experience, along with other factors that began to unfold, slowly I began to lose them. Then on March 11, 2003, my wife and two youngest daughters left the home, leaving me with only my son.
On March 31, I was laying prostrate on the floor and Yahweh spoke to me: “You’re going through a difficult place; you’re going through a difficult place.” I was indeed going through a difficult matter at the time, and I assumed that this was what He was speaking of. Little did I know that that difficult place would last for an entire year, to the very day. My wife filed for a legal separation with requirements that would have totally destroyed me. Finally, exactly one year later, on March 31, 2004, the lawyers signed papers that settled the case to my preservation, and was in every way a dramatic turning point for me. Also at that time and in the weeks following, a river of truth burst forth and the profound writings, The Rod, A Lesson From Intercession, Shelah and Clay of Spittle, and others, were published.
But today, I now wonder if the “difficult place” was speaking of a period, not for that moment, not even for one year, but for seven years! The pattern we just saw was:
1 ½ years —> 7 and 7 —> 3 years
If you consider these two sevens in actual years, then today I am precisely at the end of the second seven. A first Remnant one and a half years preceded the February, 1996, Jonah experience. Next, I passed through seven years in which I began seeing my family pull away from me. Then on March 11, 2003, I lost them completely when my wife left. Today, March, 2010, marks the completion of a second seven years, this time with the complete absence of my wife and family—a very difficult place! They all turned to Christianity and rejected me. Like Nebuchadnezzar, a beast’s mind (the mark of the beast) has been given to them for “seven periods of time” and they have rejected their rightful governmental head.
It is quite revealing that my personal life during these fourteen years equally follows the testimony of the two sons of Judah. This is particularly true in that Onan, the second son, spilled his seed on the ground. I have had my own Onan experience in that I have not had a wife for this second seven-year period. This is actually hopeful and quite confirming since it attests to the accuracy and relevance of this intercession.
Additionally, this gives me hope that my own Onan identification is complete and my wife can now return. I pray that, like Nebuchadnezzar, my entire family will come to their senses—they too will raise their eyes toward heaven and their reason return to them (Daniel 4:34). March 31, 2004, was a great victory for me with the settlement of the lawsuit and the outpouring of the Spirit of truth, and I pray that it was a type of what might be experienced when the complete second period of seven years is over. On the other side of March 31 in 2004 there was a tremendous outflow of revelation, and I hope this will once again be the case, only in a higher fulfillment.
Also on March 31, but in 1992, my wife was in labor and about to birth our fifth child. But, the child was a breach! Then suddenly, for the first time ever, my wife’s contractions totally ceased. The next day the midwife found that during the night Yahweh had miraculously turned the child, repairing the breach. A little girl was born later that day on April 1, the day Yahshua was crucified. We named her Grace, for Yahweh repaired the breach and we had not even asked—He performed it by His grace. (You can read more about this at .) I pray that come April 1, 2010, Yahweh will repair the breach that has not only been going on for the last seven years for me personally regarding my family, or even for the last fourteen years, but for the last two thousand years.
On the night when we faced the reality of the breach of our fifth child, Yahweh clearly spoke to me a promise. It was from Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares Yahweh, “plans for peace and not for evil [same word as the tree] to give you a future and a hope.”
This was the promise given to the captives in Babylon (for seventy years). Today, the Bride faces the same captivity in mystery Babylon Christianity, along with my family. I pray Yahweh will now fulfill this promise, deliver the Bride from captivity, and bring us to Jerusalem above to be born from above.
Thus, it is my hope that the pattern that He has set forth for the last fifteen and a half years in my own life, going back to the beginning of the Bride on August 7, 1994, will be effectual for us today. If He continues to operate off of this pattern, He will fulfill it with a double-portion three-year ministry period. Hopefully this will be the true fulfillment of the double portion of the first Remnant. We will see what He does. Also, we do not know at this point how He will regard the intercessions that we have gone through in the last two years, looking to 2012. They could still be relevant and effectual, but I will not get into this here. We will obviously have to wait and see His back—what He does. But in any regard, the clear pattern we see regarding the “1 ½ years —> 7 and 7 —> 3 years” is indeed hopeful. In the last fifteen and a half years He has intricately effected this pattern in my life, up to the completion of the second seven—the Onan period.

It is now our hope that the double portion three years will be the “desire fulfilled,” the true fulfillment of the tree of life. I pray Yahweh will indeed repair the breach as He testified with Grace and fulfill the three years.

While I pray and hope for the fulfillment of this pattern in my family, I also know that this is not the fulfillment all of us so very desperately need. As addressed in the article, “The Helper,” the true helper we must have is the Holy Spirit. As we noted, that account in Genesis 2 is clearly prophetic regarding the kingdom of heaven, and the helper man needs is the Holy Spirit. When it was said by Yahweh that it was not good for man to be alone, this is never more clear than when we look at the state of the church and mankind today. We MUST have the move of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth! Without this we will be as lacking and unable to bring forth the fruit of the kingdom, as Adam would have been without the woman.
Sadly, my wife proves that natural women cannot fulfill the helper that we must have. The natural is not the fulfillment, whether it be the woman, the man, natural children, or even these natural bodies. Though we must be diligent to demonstrate ourselves faithful in these realms, proving ourselves worthy (2 Thessalonians 1:5, 11), our greatest need is to receive the heavenly fulfillment. Truly, in every regard the natural must put on immortality. Right now, the fulfillment we need is the Spirit given to us from above, creating the second son of fresh oil.
In closing, let it be noted that the entire breach of Christianity is a period of hope upon hope as well—waiting for the promise of the Elijah Bride and Immanuel. They have not had fulfillment for two thousand years, and would fail for another thousand years if they were to continue. It would be worse than a sickened heart; but instead, three hours of darkness and the cry, “My God my God, why have You forsaken us?” May Yahweh God have mercy, which He will do.
Furthermore, granted, once again we the Bride risk that this natural pattern just addressed, as clear as it is, could be hope upon hope. We can only wait and see. But, at some point Yahweh needs to circumcise this work, take full responsibility, and produce the essential results. May this be so at this time. We look unto Him.
